Privacy policy

For proper treatment it is necessary for the treating therapist to maintain a client record. This is also a legal obligation under the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO). Your record contains notes about your health and information about the examinations and treatments carried out.

The record may also include information necessary for your treatment that the treating therapist, with your explicit consent, has requested from another healthcare provider such as your GP.

We do our best to protect your privacy. This means, among other things, that we:

  • handle your personal and medical data with care;
  • ensure that unauthorised persons have no access to your data.

Only your treating therapist has access to the data in your record.

Your treating therapist has a legal duty of confidentiality (professional secrecy).

The data in your record may also be used for the following purposes:

  • To inform other healthcare providers, for example when therapy has concluded or when referring you to another practitioner. This only happens with your explicit consent.
  • For use by a substitute during my absence.
  • For anonymised use during peer review.
  • A small part of your record data is used for financial administration so that the treating therapist or their administrator can issue an invoice.
  • Sending newsletters.
  • Sending information to clients via WhatsApp, SMS or email.

If the treating therapist wishes to use your data for any other purpose, you will be informed first and your explicit consent will be requested.

Retention period of personal records

Only data relevant to your treatment and compliant with legal requirements is collected in the digital personal record. The retention period for record data is 15 years and applies to persons aged 18 and over. The retention period for financial data is 7 years.

Privacy on healthcare invoices

The invoice you receive contains the information required by your health insurer so that you can submit it for reimbursement.
